About the community.
The Point is a gated residential community on a peninsula in Lake Norman, in Mooresville, Iredell County, North Carolina. It is organized around a golf course, with waterfront, golf-frontage, and interior homesites across the peninsula.
Homes range broadly in age, scale, and style, with most of the community built from the late 1990s onward and infill construction and substantial renovations continuing today.
About docks and the water.
Lake Norman is a Duke Energy reservoir. Private docks are permitted through Duke Energy's shoreline management program and are tied to the individual property — not to the community as a whole. Association and covenant requirements apply on top of that.
Never assume a home has, or can obtain, a dock. Confirm the existing permit and its transferability during due diligence.
About golf and club membership.
The course at the center of the community is Trump National Golf Club Charlotte. The club is a separate entity from the property owners association, and buying a home does not automatically grant membership.
