Golf course homes at The Point.

Fairway adjacency is its own category of ownership — with its own orientation, privacy, and resale logic, separate from waterfront and separate from club membership.

Golf course homes

The golf corridor gives The Point its second landscape. Where waterfront lots trade on frontage and depth, golf-frontage lots trade on orientation, elevation, and which part of a hole a home actually faces.

One point to be unambiguous about: living on the course is not the same as belonging to the club. Membership at Trump National Golf Club Charlotte is governed entirely by the club and is separate from buying a home. Confirm current membership structure directly with the club.

Not all fairway lots are equal.

Position along a hole changes the experience substantially. A home set behind a green sees different traffic and different ball behavior than one along a landing zone. Elevation above the playing surface buys privacy; sitting level with it does not.

  • Which hole, and which part of that hole, the lot faces
  • Elevation relative to the playing surface
  • Depth of the rear yard and existing screening
  • Cart-path proximity and morning maintenance routing
  • Sun orientation for outdoor living areas
  • Whether the long view is the fairway itself or a tree line

Ball exposure, honestly.

Golf-course homes take errant balls. It is a normal condition of the position rather than a defect, but exposure varies enormously between lots and is worth understanding before you buy rather than after.

Ask what the current owner's actual experience has been, look for repaired glazing or screening additions, and consider laminated glass and planting strategy for any renovation on an exposed elevation.

Landscape and outdoor living.

Course-frontage yards are usually asked to do two contradictory things: preserve the long view and provide privacy. The resolution is layered — low structure near the house, taller mixed plantings at the property edge, and a screening line placed to interrupt sightlines from the course without walling off the view from the terrace.

Pools, outdoor kitchens, and terraces on a golf elevation are usually subject to community architectural review. Confirm the current requirements with the association before design work begins.

Club membership is a separate question.

Buying a golf-frontage home at The Point does not, by itself, grant club access, tee times, or use of club facilities. The club sets its own membership categories, availability, and terms.

If golf access is central to your decision, treat it as its own due-diligence track: contact the club directly and confirm current structure and availability in writing before you rely on it. Nothing on this site should be read as a statement by the club.

How golf frontage resells.

Golf-frontage homes generally sit below comparable deepwater waterfront in price and appeal to a distinct buyer — one who values open space, long views, and mature landscaping without the maintenance obligations of a dock and shoreline.

Because the buyer pool is narrower than the waterfront pool, condition and updating matter more at resale. A dated golf-frontage home competes directly with a renovated one on the same corridor.

Common Questions

Answers, before you ask.

Are there golf course homes at The Point?

Yes. In addition to waterfront and interior homesites, The Point includes homes fronting or overlooking the golf corridor at Trump National Golf Club Charlotte.

Does buying a golf course home include club membership?

No. Club membership is governed entirely by the club and is separate from home ownership. Verify current membership structure and availability directly with Trump National Golf Club Charlotte.

Do golf course homes get hit by golf balls?

Exposure varies significantly by lot position and elevation, but it is a normal condition of course-frontage living. Ask about the specific home's history and inspect for prior glazing repairs.

Are golf homes cheaper than waterfront homes at The Point?

As a general pattern, golf-frontage homes price below comparable deepwater waterfront homes, but condition, size, and updating can move any individual property well outside the pattern.

Can I add a pool or outdoor kitchen on a golf lot?

Exterior work is typically subject to community architectural review, and setbacks or easements may apply along the course edge. Verify current requirements with the association before design.
